Change is a-coming again
It seems that all my life I have been moving around. From one city to another, one country to the next. I think in my 30+ years, the longest I’ve stayed in one place is 5 years.
So quite often I dream of staying put in one house, one home for the rest of my life. No more changes, no more new environment to fit into, new friends to make. Just the same comfortable, familiar things forever.
Then again, I’ll probably get bored of it all after awhile!
Well so far life hasn’t given me a chance to get bored. That’s a good thing, I think.
This coming change isn’t that big of a deal anyway. I’m just going from our KL home to my parents home in Melbourne. It’ll be great to see family again! And it is only for a few months. Not a big change for me. But it will be all new for Keira.
She won’t remember that she was born there and spent the first two months of her life there. It will be an all new house, new routine, different weather and new people to meet. Including a new baby brother!
Now that she’s at the age where she is attached to all her old things… her blanket, her pyjamas, her toys… I hope she can handle it.
The good thing is that Keira will finally get to play with her cousin! Keira only has two first cousins, and both are in Australia! This time she can play with Yong Hao, who is only two days younger than her:) I think the cousins will love playing with each other!
So my parents will be arriving here in a few days time, and then one month later, we will fly back to Melbourne with them.. in preparation for the fourth member of the family to arrive. Lots of packing coming up!
I actually haven’t really done anything to prepare us yet. I haven’t even bought a SINGLE thing for the baby. It is very bad.. second child syndrome.. cos I expect he can inherit everything from Keira. The cot, highchair, change table, steriliser, buggy, breast pumps are all there already. And I expect that he can wear his cousin Yong Hao’s baby clothes!
Baby no. 2 is growing well tho. He moves around alot in there. Especially when I sit down. Then he’ll start kicking as if to say, “Hey Mummy, keep rocking me!” He also tends to roll and nudge when he hears his sister’s voice talking and playing.
Change isn’t all that bad actually. We made some great friends when we went to London. Speaking of which, Tina and William are back in KL for holidays, and I was very pleased to see the two kids renew their friendship almost immediately. They played really well together:)

Holding hands, so cute.

Sigh, I need to start buying cold weather clothes for Keira soon.. And what else? wash Keira’s baby gym, and bouncer and toys for no. 2, and just mentally prepare for change… again!
Aah.. interesting times ahead.

Wow, the longest in one place is 5 yrs? I’m sure by now, you adapt very fast to a new environment!
It’s good that you’ll have your family around to help out when # 2 comes along.
Btw, thx for sharing about the natural finger paints in your previous post. I told my parents and they were pretty excited too! But just wanna ask - how long can they last? Need to put in the fridge?

hi adrine, ya, must keep in the fridge, but actually this is the first time i did it so not sure how long they can last! the batch i made 2 weeks ago is still ok now.. i think i would use it as long as it looks ok.. no mould or anything!

Dun worry abt Keira, kids adapt real fast. Moreover, u’re going back to where family is. So it’ll make the transition even easier.

One thing it’s good that the kids may easily adapt to the new places if they grow up in this lifestyle!

I’m sure cheerful and outgoing kids like Keira would be able to adapt to new environment easily. Moreover, she would have cousins to accompany her as well.
I’m yet to prepare #2 baby stuff too. More thinking and organizing need to do since Jonathan and his lil sister may need to share some of the things like baby cot, sterilizer, etc.
